Bonsai is an artform. Unlike horticulture (regular plant care) bonsai requires training and education as to when and how to trim and train the plant to do what you want.

No get one at Home depot there cheap there and they are great starter plant for you water once a week soak. if it does not die for six months start shopping for your next bonsai.

I put mine inside when its was to cold outside depending on your climate. It should do well.

    Bonsai Care

It is very easy with a lot of patience. Get some copper wires ( it would not rust ) ready. Use it to wrap around the young branches and bend it to the position you want. Cut away the end tip to prevent growing beyond your envision.
To create a ball of stems and leaves, trim away young shoots but leave behind two or four leaves on the stem each time. Cut away new young shoots if it is of no use to your creation.

    Use a shallow rectangular pot.
Transfer to bigger one if the plant is bigger.
During transferring, thin the roots and use new soil
